ANOTHER FANTASTIC TURNOUT!!  (FODL 6 ANNUAL AGM AND BBQ)

Hello Deer Lakers!!

Mother nature cooperated nicely as the sun shone on all attendees at the 6^th Annual AGM and BBQ.

We would like to thank our special guest professor Dan Walters from Nipissing University as he talked about the health of our beautiful lake backed with scientific evidence.

The bottom line is Deer Lake is healthy but all inhabitants must be diligent to prevent fertilizer, sewage ,spillage and other human interactions from changing the delicate balance.  FODL will have the University report available to all by the end of September or early October.

First of all the Friends of Deer Lake would like to thank the Benninger’s for the use of their facility. They certainly spoil us as a group every year!!

Congratulations to our many prize winners and donators too numerous to mention by name. I will single out our 50/50 winner Veronica Martin whom took home $550.00 and Jane Dewar our grand prize ticket of 4 to watch our Toronto Blue Jays thump the Houston Astro’s on September 10/2025 in Toronto. We would also like to thank Eaton Canada for the Blue jay ticket donation. Guy and Heather donated the “silent auction” fireplace for the second straight year boosting the financial contribution to FODL-money we need to fight the fight!! Thank you to Tony Karasmanis for being our 2025 Silent Auction winner!!

It would appear we had 5 new members join the FODL Family which is paramount to our success going forward. All returning members deserve a loud applause as they have supported Deer Lake from the beginning. We are all stewards for Deer Lake and need to do our part.

Special thanks to Boris, Cindy, Stephanie, Jack and Jana for all their hard work to keep our Website, Facebook page, financials, memberships and me in line!! Anyone who wants to join the committee, in any capacity ,are more than welcome. It can be a challenge but Deer Lake is worth it !!
