Hello Fellow Deer Lakers: The big day is just around the corner.
Christmas trees 
are up and the lights are lit. It is truly a magical time of year!! Now what to get my lovely wife for Christmas???
Just came up to the cottage to check things out!! It seems some local four legged Deer Lakers a.k.a. mice have helped themselves to some supplies left in the food pantry. Anything not in a glass or plastic container is now inedible at least for the human Deer lakers. Apparently the mice like the “McAllister Inn & Suites” as they have moved inside to escape the long cold winter ahead. Anyway off to Home Depot to launch an appropriate defense!! Never a dull moment in Lount Township!!
Although the lake isn’t in its liquid form anymore it is as beautiful as ever!! I just love this place!!
Soon the sounds of snowmobiles, outdoor hockey games, cross country skiing and the occasional snowball fight will be heard or seen all around the shoreline as we enjoy our northern paradise. Yet somehow the peace and tranquility also resonates in the region. All residents and Friends are lucky as they enjoy Deer lake year round.
Next year Friends of Deer lake (FODL) will be looking for additional volunteers for a variety of different activities such as water testing and trash pick up. We already have quite a group of volunteers that I can’t thank enough for their contributions. Cindy, Jack, Stephanie, Jana and Boris, Deer Lake appreciates your effort. Also we can’t thank the Benninger’s enough for allowing us to hold our annual AGM and BBQ at their home.
Really looking forward to seeing as many members and Friends as I can in 2025!! Great times ahead!!
